         Electronic music is music that contains electronic or digital instruments only. Electronic music became popular in the 1990's. The target audience is targeted towards young people and those who grew up in the 1990's listening to this type of music.


         Pop music is a POPular genre of music, originated from the United States of America and the United Kingdom during the mid 1950's. The pop genre often borrows elements from other styles of music such as rock, urban and dance music. This music is targeted towards young people and adults.

         Rock music is a genre of music that originated from rock and roll music in the early 1950's in the United States of America. This music is targeted towards younger people and is often linked with political movements.


         Indie pop is a music genre which combines guitar pop with DIY ethics in opposition to pop music. It originated from British post punk. Jazz music is a music genre that originated in the African American communities of New Orleans, USA, in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It developed from roots in ragtime and blues music. The key elements of Jazz music include blues, swing, syncopation and creative freedom. 


         Rhythm and blues music, abbreviated as R&B, combines soulful singing with a strong backbeat. This type of music started after World War Two in the late 1940's. This music was originally made and targeted to the back communities of America.

         In the film industry, a sound track is an audio recording created or used in film production or post production. A soundtrack can be recorded music accompanying and synchronized to the images of a motion picture, book, television programme or video game. A commercially released soundtrack album of music as featured in the soundtrack of the film, television or video presentation, or the area of a film that contains the synchronized recorded sound.
